Stripped scope ring
Went to replace the cheapy rings that came with my scope and one of the screws for attaching to the base is stripped. Any suggestions for how to get it off?

You can drill it out with a drill bit the size of the head

Didn't have a drill but the cheap aluminum was no match for a dremel cutoff wheel. Mods you may close this thread.

I had the scope out of the rings, just had to get the rest of the ring off the base, fortunately I managed to do it without even leaving a mark on the base.

If you are drilling out a stripped headed screw a drill bit with left handed threads works great. Often the bit will hang up and back the screw right out. If you drill a small pilot hole dead center and then follow with a larger bit this is the most likely outcome. Left handed twist bits are available from good hardware stores.
