New to me S&W Model 29-3

Found it in the Richfield WI Gun library. They had it marked at $699.00 They gave me $50 off. I also used $200 in Cabela's points (thank you very much Mr. Employer) making the price to me at $450.00

Does any one recognize the grips? I am assuming their not factory.

The unfluted cylinder indicates a Classic Hunter.

THAT is one of S&W's sillywet models indicated by the silhoutte front sight, perhaps the finest front sight S&W ever put on one of their fine sixguns. Please note that the rear sight should have the narrow slot to match the front sights narrow blade. The four front sight settings can be set for four distances ie: 25, 50, 75, and 100 yards. Or if you prefer , 50, 100, 150, and 200 yards. That sight system is an utter delight to use. I have it on a S&W 44MAG and a S&W M586 8 3/8" 357MAG.
