Sizing new brass, IE 9mm Para. I know...

I have always sized my rifle new brass to make sure the case mouth is round. Do you think that the slight belling of my LEE expander will suffice? 'Bout to do a few hundred. I would rather skip the sizing operation. What's your thoughts?

EDIT: I've done it a few times and they look good. I haven't seen any that were really deformed anyway. They all come out with very similar resistance. Bullets start with ease...

I would size them, bullet setback can be a problem sometimes. Seating the bullet will make them round, lol. If you want to skip something... don't expand or crimp. Just size and seat the bullets, they will hold better that way!
Try a couple and see how it goes before you make up your mind.

If sizing the new cases doesn't make them smaller its wasted too... measure the case before and after, but if you gain a thousand that much better!

As long as they feed through your auto-pistol reliably, and you are just using them for plinking ammo .... why not?

I wouldn't do it, but I know others that have gotten away with it.

Then again ... I'm a perfectionist.

The Lee decapping die also sizes the brass at the same time. Or am I missing something here.

EDIT: Are these new unprimed cases?

I size all brass new and used to make sure there is proper tension holding the bullet.

Just curious......does anyone know if Remington or Winchester or Hornady resizes all of their brass prior to loading it?
