MAC90 stock
I’m looking for the longest wood stock for my MAC 90, I do have one on but it’s just so short and I’m not sure which other would be the longest. I also have a setup for a black plastic forearm and would be fine with black plastic but not sure if NATO length is longest or some other type.

Have you looked into adding a recoil pad or extension to the stock? How much longer do you need it to be?
Adding either one should get you closer to the length that you need.

That’s what I thought too, but this original size stock is so small I haven’t found any that will fit. Beside I figure I’d rather spend $40.00-$60.00 on a stock than $20.00-$40.00 on just a pad.

May have a fit problem ???
jetinteriorguy
Understand that I do not have any personal knowledge but have read that a standard AK stock, will not fit onto a MAc-90. The problem is making a proper transition/fit, where the stock meets the receiver, on top. might want to confirm this with an expert. ..... Be Safe !!!

ATI makes one of their stocks that will fit the MAK-90. Check out their website, I think the stock is about $70.
Not sure if the make a recoil pad for it or if the factory makes extensions. Contact them and see if they do. If anything, you could make a piece out of aluminum and install it yourself.

Regular AK stocks do fit with minor fitting due to the thicker steel used for the receiver. I actually have an ATI stock that does fit and work well. But it’s very heavy, and I’d prefer a regular full stock.

Ironwood makes a Warsaw Pact length stock designed to fit MAK (not MAC) 90's. You will need to specify if your MAK90 has a square or slant back receiver.

A small gap is between my buttstock and the square-cut receiver.
I should have realized that the unique, smallish handguard with the recesses is for an AK-74. Avoid AK-74 furniture for an AKM (my MAK 90). |

I have the Ironwood stock on it now and it’s too short for me, I can use it but to get it snugged up the stock doesn’t nestle into my shoulder and it really bites when I shoot it. I have boney shoulders, not much padding there so I really need a stock that fits right. Thanks for the suggestions so far.

My Serbian PAP AK, from Century, came with black plastic furniture, and I found the stock to be too long for me and replaced it with an Ace unit. I can measure the old one for you, but won't be able to till tonight.

I’m thinking the Arsenal NATO length stock on Midway might be a good way to go. Anybody have experience with these, quality ok etc.?

I do still have my original stock, which really does work well and fits good once I reshaped the thumbhole so a human hand fits it. I just like the traditional look of an AK and would like to keep it set up that way. Thanks for the offer anyway.

The black polymer stock I took off my N PAP is 10 1/4 inches long. It has a rubber butt pad.

If you're OK with polymer, the Magpul Zhukov is an adjustable, side folding stock for AKs. It has 3 positions and I think the 3rd position would give you a long enough LOP.
I have one for my N-PAP and it is the best AK stock I've ever owned. |

Even though I mostly want a traditional fixed stock, I’m beginning to think the Magpul Zhukov might be the way to go. Interesting though, it’s roughly $100.00 for a stock on a rifle that cost me $118.00. Yeah, I’ve had this rifle a while, around 35 years or so. I don’t shoot it a lot but every once in a while I bust it out and then start thinking, what more can I do with this rifle.

Is it a stamped or milled receiver?

Then the cost of a 100 dollar stock is only 1/8 of the cost and it doesn't seem so unreasonable. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk |

Yeah I know what you mean, I was just pointing out the irony of it.
