L.E. Wilson. All steel. Can be powerized with a drill and adapter. No pilots, but you have to buy their case holders.

I use the cheap Lee case trimmer Case Length Gauge, Cutter and Lock Stud mounted in a drill & Chamfer tool to cut my brass to length.

I use Wilsons with the power adapter, each set to a specific case length and locked. I pick them up used at gunshows and Ebay

I use a Giraurd for 223, and WFT's for other calibers. Also have the Lee method mentioned above for the small batches or the odd ball case that was overlooked or found behind that box of junk.

The Trim-It ii is basically a Giraud Tri-way for multiple calibers. The little crow works great for high volume, but still requires chamfering the mouth. In theory the tri-way types eliminate this, but the chamfer isn’t great if you look at under magnification. |

https://leeprecision.com/gage-holder-223-rem.html I use the gage trimmer mounted with an 8/32 adapter in a Hornady 3 station case prep center and use a screwdriver/lock stud/holder combo to hold the cartridge.

I use the L.E. Wilson for my lower volume cartridges and the motorized Giraud for high volume cases. No comparison on speed. I can do several on the Giraud for each one that comes off the Wilson, and the ones off the Wilson still need to be chamfered and deburred, while the Giraud cutter handles those tasks with the trimming simultaneously. The older Gracey design will do that, too, and is a little less expensive. The Gracey uses a smaller motor, so the Giraud can be a little faster, but the Gracey has attachments to motorize outside neck turning, if you normally do that task.
All the trimmers mentioned here and some more can be found on YouTube, so you can see how they are set up and what the relative speeds look like.

I just watched the LE Wilson case trimmer video .
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxsNP_5eDVg&t=306s Yeah it looks nice and may work well but looks way slow and needing sized and fired case holders Nope not for me . I'll take my Lyman universal trimmer any day over that one https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1012881432?pid=720825 See 1:10 to see how fast it works . If the guy was smart enough to mount the trimmer it would be even faster . I'll add you don't even need to use the collets because the UNIVERSAL case holder holds the case really tight . it needs no adjustments to hold cases it self adjust to hold any case but does need to be adjusted for case length . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Gs3sJLRUto An example of how well it works , this is a 223 case I trimmed down to see how well my flash hole deburring was

So, that would be a 223 Short? Or, a 300 Sawed-off?

Depends on the volume you trim.
I’ve been using the Frankford Arsenal for a few years now but plan on upgrading to a Giraud. https://www.frankfordarsenal.com/cas...6.html#start=1 https://www.giraudtool.com/giraud-power-trimmer.html |

I also have the Giraud which is great when dealing in volume. But for just a handful of brass, I go to my L.E. Wilson.

If any volume, then the tri trimmer types are the only way to go.
The Gerard Tri Trim can be chucked up in a drill and clamped in a vice and you have a motorized Gerard with a solid base (I have three of those) My only other one is a Trim it II as Gerard does not make 7.5 Swiss in the Tri Trimmer type. I can trim 300 cases in 30 minutes with those, corded drill clamped upside down in a vice.

Lee trimmer, (glued in a doorknob) with the universal chuck, on the lowest speed setting.

What? Are they going to pop your kneecaps or something. I have many Lyman products, even more Lee stuff, and find RCBS dies to be dependable. Guess what? They all play nice with others.
