short range session w/USP
I found ST. Bernard Parish Pistol range just 6 miles from the hotel this morning so I went visiting with the HK.
Very nice little range ,clean, decent selection of rentals ( used my own) and a nice inventory of guns and extras :-) range rental was $20 for the day, a 50 round $22 box of ammo and a $2 target and I was set to play I tore the head up shooting both DA and SA at 10 yards and took a shot at each organ DAO at 10 yards just working my trigger discipline, then took some full range head shots at the back wall both DA and SA (missed a couple of each) then back to some fast head/CM shots at 10 yards to finish off the 50 rounds. I'm really digging the HK so far, when I'm home for a few days I will try to do a head to head shoot out between the USP40 , P229, and the 1911 Nitron jut as a comparison in my hands. I waxed the orange dude big time this morning lol https://photos.app.goo.gl/cwPMSB1GE817PCA92 |

Nice. Used to have a few HKs including the USP .40, loved the way it recoiled, very soft for a .40.
The big 'ol USP .45 was my favorite, super accurate out to 50 yards. |

More trigger time
Shot the HK head to head with the Sig 229 on 2 different occasions, first try was a cold 3 shot group and quit with each pistol from 10 yards shot at speed from the draw, first shot DA next 2 SA, rate of fire was as fast as I could aquire the dot.
I edged the Sig a little with the HK 2 hits to 1 https://photos.app.goo.gl/WRUKLyl4OWAyT8Uh2 Next outing was 10 yards DAO, decocking between each shot, here the Sig edged out the HK but it was a toss up between them https://photos.app.goo.gl/yz4ZWdxIqcmUpYaU2 https://photos.app.goo.gl/TJ8XHuKKuHmKlNeh1 |
