Help with headstamps
Hopefully you hand loaders might help
I've had an original box of 30-06 Frontier Cartridges in my ammo locker longer than I can remember..late 60's early 70's ? I believe, and have read that Frontier [Hornady] used re-claimed military brass and loaded their own bullets in the cases and sold them as Frontier before Hornady became a cartridge company. The head stamps of the cartridges in the box: TW 52, 53 LC 54 SL 54 55 RA 55 TW 53 FA 55 PA 55 And one cartridge with a TW 42 Can anyone ID the head stamp companies? The years speak for themselves.

Sure, but I think I will do you a better service if I steer you to where you can look them up and most all others: Here.

Thank you Unclenick!
The box of ammo would make a nice addition to a collection.

"TW 52, 53
LC 54 SL 54 55 RA 55 TW 53 FA 55 PA 55 And one cartridge with a TW 42" All US military manufactured ammunition. I see by now that you've identified the headstamps. The odd man out in that list, however, is PA55. No US ordnance plant ever used that code, it's not in the list that Nick provided, and I've not been able to find any such headstamp in any of my resources. Are you sure that it's stamped PA and not FA?

I wonder if it might be RA with the tail of the R missing?
If not, this reference shows PA to be a Romanian headstamp, though why they would have produced 30-06 in 1955, I don't know.

That PA 55 has to either a FA 55 or RA 55 if you look closer.
