6" GP-100 holster wanted

Good day everyone .

It seems finding the 4.2" holster is easy but the 6" does not seem to be around . I originally bought a 4" model gp-100 and the holster to go with it . I how ever changed to the 6" model before the 10 day waiting period was up ( in CA ) . So now I have a 6" barrel with a 4" holster . I've spent a couple hours looking for a 6" holster and the more I look the more confused I get .

What I'm looking for - Leather , thumb strap , covers the trigger and closed muzzle end .

Is this what I want ? The description has a "N" in it . Does that mean S&W N-frame because I think I need a K/L frame for it to be compatible with the GP-100 ????

Try Gould and Goodrich holsters. Nice workmanship on their holsters

Do you have a full lug or partial lug GP? Do you want a pancake, avenger, or hunting style?

Full lug , don't think I want the pancake style and not sure of the specifics of the others you mentioned . I just know the look I want and that is pretty much what you see in the amazon link . I like the style and look of that one pictured in the link

Thanks for the question , I don't know much about holsters so any help is great .

You're right. Any 'K' or 'L' frame holster for a 6" barrel will do nicely. You may want to look at other than Amazon though. And decide on a budget.
The closed muzzle end is probably going to be an issue. Lots of without.

"Fits S&W N" means it fits a Smith 'N' frame like an M29.

GP 100 is a bigger gun than a K frame, and has a full lug barrel.
GP 100 is L frame size.
If you can't find one, you could get an open-bottom belt slide, or a generic fabric holster, to get by while you order one from El Paso Saddlery or somebody.
Just another sign of how the autos have taken over the market.

OP I toyed with offering to make one but I don't have a full lug 6" ruger. Wish I could've got my hands on one to use for template making and set molding, but no friend has one either. Would have done it dirt cheap just for the excuse to make the pattern and make something different.

I'd been considering that since I started looking . It sure seems like that would work but I've not seen one colt holster that is compatible with the Ruger GP100 or at least they tend not to specify that .

Let me tell you guys why I'm having such a hard time with this . As I stated earlier I already have a 4" holster . Instead of looking to sell it I'm thinking of getting a firearm the fits it . If I by another holster that does not work I'll likely look to buy a firearm for that one to . I once spent another $860 because I felt it was a waste of money to spend $30 on a background check for a $150 plinker so I added a 1911 to the paperwork .

I know how I think and if I get another holster that is wrong I'll buy a gun for it .

CW , yep i looked at those and like it . If I can’t find a holster that covers the trigger then that’s the holster I’ll likely get

I'm having a holster made by R Grizzle it's pricey but made for the exact gun . You can give them a try , can go broke finding the right holster. There top shelf holsters for your pet firearm. Good Luck.

The description says compatible with the GP100.

https://www.amazon.com/Bianchi-Cyclo.../dp/B005PT05SI

If you're willing to spend a little more this is what I'd go with.

I'm very happy with my Mernickle holster. It's a western style for a 6" Blackhawk but there's a couple on this page that look like what you want. I would give him a call to discuss details. I talked to him before I ordered mine and he seems very knowledgeable.
