Completely agree with you Scorch, gun world is full of "myth", the magazine on this Savage is no real problem to strip and reassemble in fact this gun is one of the easiest to work on, our biggest problem was getting a replacement mag over here in England, modifying it to take the 303 round was a bit of a fiddle but not rocket Science.
Keep it simple, life has enough problems without making something out of nothing.

I just saw a 303 savage rotory carrier on ebay. $135 is not cheap but a lot less than having a single shot repeater. Take a look! Grant

I was never taught at school to work on it. I should see if it's in Brownell's Encyclopedia of Firearms Disassembly.

I wonder if that part can be printed? If not, if it can be scanned and CNC'd.

Glad to hear it's running again with a replacement part.
