New-to-me Sig P220's

Went by a LGS and they had these bad boys. Paid $1040 OTD. Just picked them up an hour ago so I haven't shot them yet. Probably won't get to until my reloading gear shows up so I can load up some .45, so probably like a month.

Oh yeah, W. German goodness!

Nice man! I'm looking for a good .40 or .45 myself up here in the Springs.

Yeah, I'll probably end up selling one or trading it for a W. German 9mm. Don't really need two but I couldn't find another anywhere online for under $700.

I only have two and they're both W. German. The top one was made in '92 and the bottom in '95.

So the hammer on the '95 gun was behaving unusually; rattling, bouncing when dry fired, and sometimes not resetting so I knew something wasn't right. Detail stripped the frame of that gun and the hammer return spring was broken. I figured since these guns are about 20 years old they could both use all new springs. While I'm at it I think I'd like to upgrade to the newer hammer strut assembly so I can install some factory slim grips. The '95 gun also has dead night sights so I might drop the coin to replace those down the road. The '92 guns has good night sights that are probably 70-80%.

That's good classic fightin' steel. Make sure all the springs are fresh like you mention and they'll be as good as new.

I love Sig as well. My favorite is a P220 full size. It's accurate, reliable and best of all .45ACP. I don't own any Sigs manufactured prior to 2002, so no W. German steel. Good luck with your newly purchased handguns.
