7.62x25 mm Ammo ???
I'm new to the forums, but have had a C&R for a couple of years. I picked up both, a Cz52 and a Rom. TOK. My question is: I have some Bulgarian ammo from the 50's and find it to be a little too hot for the TOK and was wondering, due to the strength of the roller lock in the Cz52 would that ammo be okay in it?
Any help is and always will be appreciated. |

Not sure what the signs are of that particular ammo being "too hot for the Tok," but IIRC there was a member (Clark) who tested a CZ-52 and a Tok to failure and the TT-33 actually handled significantly higher pressure loads than the CZ-52. I can't recall with 100% certainty, but I think that he ran out of case capacity before he could make the Tok actually fail. While the roller-locking action is undoubtedly stronger than most pistol actions, the weakest place in the CZ-52 wasn't the lock-up, but rather the barrel at the chamber, which is considerably thinner on the CZ-52 than on the TT-33.
Hope this helps, Saands |
