Well, I'll be danged! Armadillos do have teeth. I still don't think they eat enough quail to make any difference, but there's no arguing with Aggies who have pawed through stomach contents.

I did know about the leprosy thing and yes they do have teeth. I have turned enough of then inside out or vaporized them enough with my savage 12fv .223 to know what they have inside. 'Diller Huntin"- How us Rednecks Varmint hunt down south

I believe the armadillo eats mostly insects, and veggies. I have always heard it was a myth that they eat eggs.

My copy of Palmers Field Book of Mammals list the following teeth pattern:
Incisors 0 Canines 0 Premolars ) Molars 8 upper amd 8 lower. Thay are also an interesting reatures in that they Always have 4 young.. Not all that interesting BUT they are always MALE or Female--all 4. Also a friend who spent some time in TEXas said "do NOT hit one on the highway-just like hitting a basketball sized rock." |
