S&W Shield

Hello I am new to this forum so be gental. I went to the range yesterday and was going to shoot my 9MM Shield but the mag would not seat so I pushed a little harder still no go. So I locked the slide back and saw the decocking lever was in the slide removel position and will not go back down. Would any body have any idea how to correct this issue befor I take it to my dealer.
Thanks Steve

Shield doesn't have a decocking lever so I assume you're talking about the take-down lever which should be in the up position. post a pic so we can see what you're looking at.
