I dunno...Marines get first dibs on those. Too bad for me they're illegal in California -- semiautomatic + pistol grip + folding stock = "assault weapon". *sigh*

M1014

The Joint Service Combat Shotgun (M1014) will be issued to each MEF starting next week.
Shotguns are not a high priority item, being used for certain guard functions (and breaching for the Force Reconnaissance platoons).
They'll replace the very worn out MK1 Remington 870 and the few 590's left in the system.

Pat,

I thought so..............Just checking.

I don't suppose you will give a sitrep on all of the fun you get to have with the "NEW" toy.

Just don't make us too jealous..........

I did not know they were banned in Kalifornia. Are there plans for a non-pistol grip version to be sold in Kalifornia?

No idea. Kalifornia decided any semi-auto shotgun with both folding stock and pistol grip / thumbhole stock / vertical forward grip is assault and therefore evil. Also, any semi-auto with a removable magazine, or any shotgun with a revolving cylinder.

We have yet to see the final design for the civilian market. I have no doubt Benelli will provide an M4 model with a standard stock and possibly a shortened magazine which would comply with almost all laws in the US. Also longer barrels and camo finishes for the hunting crowd.
