1944 T-14 from Leyte Island

Family Japanese photo took off the deceased owner back in 1944 on Leyte Island!.. The soldier is the man in the middle .Kind of creepy.........................But History..........

She's a beaut! If you had the soldiers name you'd almost want to return the picture to the family but at the same time you probably wouldn't want to tell them where it came from... creepy indeed.

Don't see anything creepy about it. Everybody, even Japs and Nazis had families.

Just another piece of history, this one in fine condition, with a photo that shows that the enemy were people, too.

Differnt kind of people than us, but people, none the less.

I bet the family could be located, If a historian could figure out which units were where and at what time, The Solders family could have closure.
It may be hard to do though, Its terrible what war does to people.
The Pistol and holster are in very good condition, obviously well cared for.

I was thinking it was well cared for too. It's strange to think that in 2012 I'm admiring how well a pistol was cared for by a soldier that was an enemy of my country in 1944. We know a little about the man already- he cared for his family and he paid attention to his equipment. Being able to hold history in my hands fascinates me; when I was a kid I just assumed everything like this was in museums

My dad was involved with the landing there on LST 552 they were sunk while on the beach just after they had off loaded there cargo.
