The New Adventures of Old Christine (Pix work now!)

Just over a year ago, I found myself to be the new owner of an old (35 years old, actually) Star PD-45. It was a good gun, and you guys were great helping me find new parts and such, but this girl was showing her age.

I named her Christine (as an inside joke).
Having been a hard-working ranch gun, she was looking pretty tired from finger and holster wear, and the wooden grips were pretty beat up as well.
She was great, but just didn't feel like she was... MINE.

I had decided to do something about her appearance. I was thinking of just having the frame bead-blasted, and the slide re-blued for a simple two-tone.
Then in October I discovered Rogue Tactical Coatings, a company literally right down the road from me in Medford, Oregon, and they were doing a two-tone special.

SOLD!

I dropped off Old Christine, and three weeks later I picked up New Christine.

In a few days I should have pix of the strip/paint process to share with you, but let me assure you, I'm love with New Christine, and I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get another 35 years out of her.
And yes, those are the same ol' beat up wooden grips. Cerakote works wonders.

THANKS, RTC!!

I don't think anyone can access your pics.

For what it's worth, a few months ago I wrote down how I post pics through Photobucket... Here's a link if you're interested... Post #7 and #9 being the operative ones...

(May not be the absolute easiest way but it always works for me...)

Here's a generic pic of your gun, I guess:

I have one of those and its a great gun.

I can't see the sights anymore so it will get sold one of these days. It was well ahead of its time.

Probably could mess it up and install some kind of better top sight, but would not care to ruin a fine gun.
