Forum Etiquette Question
Most of us probably belong to the same hand full forums and some keep the same user-names, The question is Do you find it in poor taste to "Cut & Paste" a thread to more than one forum you belong to?
For example, A thread like "Check out my new gun" is posted on forum "A", and then copy and pasted to forums "B" "C" and "D". Now I have been known to do this myself. because I'm a "hunt and peck" typer its just easier for me to cut and paste than try to type it all over again. Just curious to find out how you all feel about this....

Nothing wrong with it
I have seen threads here that drew no interest but went a few pages on THR

It is sometimes irritating to see the same exact thread posted across several different forums (and regardless of the user name, if the OP is exactly the same, it's pretty conclusive the person is the same person), it is also instructive at the same time.
Each forum has its own "personality" and as such will generally have differing answers. So no, I don't think it bad at all. It's simply something one does to get a variety of answers from the gun community at large. That's my take on this question. YMMV. |
