River Junction backordered my conversion cylinder, so I'm canceling the order and leaving the gun cap & ball. I smeared on some blue in a few spots, knowing full well that in a week's time it'll be worn off again. At that point I'll leave it alone and let the elements age it further. I'm really happy with how the grips turned out. I'll try to take better pics this weekend.

Very nice Uberti you have there, & looks like you did a nice job on refinishing the grips.

You could go further by doing the cylinder mod to it if you plan to use a snail capper.

Here's the latest picture of my Pietta NMA.

It's had quite a few mods to it.

A variable speed Dremel tool with a 1/2" drum sanding bit & some patience will do it.

I started out using a dremel then got tired of it. Took out my makita hand drill put in a 5/8 stone grinding drum and went to town. then i put in a 5/8 sandpaper drum and followed up then did the remainding sanding by hand

Okay, so I called River Junction to cancel my order and the guy told me, "Yeah, Kirst has discontinued their Remington .38 Special cylinders, but I bought the last of their stock and they are shipping now."

So I guess I will wait and see what shows up.

Very nice work. I've done the dremel thing to open the nipples for a snail capper and it was the best idea anyone has given me on C/B revolvers.

I learned something today ... Taking good pictures in sunlight is difficult, and sunlight can make your gun look totally different.

I know what you mean. its very difficult to take a good picture. there is usually a glare of some kind. they do look a lot better in person
