Tusco
We should be going through Akron about that time. Maybe meet up on the southside or something.

LilJoe,
If you get off of I77 at the 224 East exit (mogadore) and go east until you get to the intersection of 224 and 241 (massilon road), there is a large dairymart gas station there. We can meet up there and head down. |

Know the area.
Sounds easy enough. Any idea what the costs are? We are jsut going to check it out and observe. Think the wife is getting more interested in tactical shooting rather than target but still wants to check it out.

LilJoe, do yourself a favor and throw a handgun and Military rifle in the trunk. You might change your mind about just checkin it out when you get there If you like tactical shooting, there will be a great handgun course of fire for ya. It's a buck a run, or 5 bucks per range for all day. They have chow right on the firing line cheap.
BTW be sure to bring eye and ear protection. Mandatory stuff there.

How much ammo should I bring? I was thinking 200 rounds for the rifle, 150 for the pistol and no idea for the shotgun.

I hope the wife isn't looking!
Well can't bring too much for not having too much. Guess we'll just have to put the handgun in the trunk. And maybe have to load up some rounds for the JUST IN CASE box. She doesn't like the 12 gauge so she isn't ready for that and the AK is gone..... Darn I've been caught. "I don't think so"

Falconer,
It is very doubtful that I'll be able to attend the Tusco shoot. More than one prior commitment on that day. But... (I can't believe I'm going to do this...) You're welcome to take my SLR-95 if you want to. |

Thanks Dave, I might take you up on that offer. Seeing as how it really should be my rifle anyway If you check this before 11pm, let me know if you need anything from cdnninvestments.com. I'm placing an order for another pistol mag, might as well add anything you need.

Tough choice.
I'd like to be able to be there, but my son's National Guard unit is going to put on an exibition on the 25th that I want to go to. The last time they put a show on, we all got to ride in the M1's. This time they're going to do some car crushing with them, but I doubt if we can ride along. Whover it was that called an M1 "an act of God, on a battlefield" really knew their stuff. The things are awesome.

Another meeting idea
Had an idea while I was working today. WE could meet on the southside of Canton at Galavers travel plaza at exit 101 on 77. We could all eat breakfast and not go on an empty stomach. It just a thought. What do you think.

Thats fine with me LilJoe. food is always good If we did that I suggest we meet earlier, I 'd like to get there around 10am. There is also the Cracker Barrel in Canton right off 77, or the Amber in springfield off of 91 & 224.

Breakfast
That Travel Plaza does have good food and the prices are decent. Plus easy in and out with plenty of parking. And the have the C-store inside for sodas and what ever for the rest of the trip. Just name a time and we could all meet there.

Tusco is only an hour from Akron and the shooting won't start until 10 or later, so you don't have to hurry. The kitchen is *usually* open on Sundays and prices are reasonable. |

what to bring
Anyone bringing a bolt gun to Tusco? Anyone bringing something that the others can try out? Let us know see we can bring ammo,$$,etc. Nobody should have to foot a bill for my fun. IMHO. I'll have extra on hand for the rifles and pistols I'm bringing, if someone wants to give one a go. The only ? mark is the Scout. Hope someone brings a bolt gun. Long range weather is calling for a cool, cloudy day with temps in the 40s. See you guys Sunday at the latest.

I think I'm bringing my sks, dave's slr95, my mossy 590, and my ruger p90. I was kinda hoping to have a new bolt gun to bring, but I couldn't seem to find any that I really wanted to lay down the cash for this weekend. I went to two gunshows with cash and credit card in hand and didn't buy a single weapon. I think I may need to see a doctor.

OK. I will bring an R1 FAL, a Gibbs No.7 Enfield, a Rem 1187, an a trusty P226.
Stopped by Gullivers today on my way back to Belpre from Parma Hts (via the Medina Gun Show). Parking lot is full of potholes. Almost bought another FAL at the show, Imbel Gear and all.
