I've put a c-lect barrel on a relatively current (1990ish) Mossberg 500. Fired OK. c-lect choke is more of a c-lect joke when it comes to consistency as far as I can tell. The thing that I found most different was the single-arm fore end on older models vs. double-arm fore end on more current ones. Doesn't seem to affect barrel fit.

You can put an old M500 barrel on a new M500 and a new or old Maverick M88. The choke has nothing to do with it.
