which Glock 3.5 connector

I'm wanting to install a 3.5 connector in a G17. The pistol will primarily serve as an IDPA gun. I am not interested in installing any additional springs, etc, at this time, just the connector change.

There seem to be several options. The Ghost, Scherer's option, and the Lone Wolf. Glockworx, Could be others I've not seen yet.

I have a Scherer in my G20 and am not displeased, and could swap out same.

But I am interested in comments and experience with the other brands,

I've found that all you need is a 3.5# connector and a Competition Trigger Spring for a lighter and crisper trigger. Much pre-travel and all of the over travel will be eliminated and you'll love your new trigger. Best of all is that it’s both cheap (about $20) and so easy you can do it yourself in just a couple of minutes.

3.5# Connector: I've tried Glock, Scherer, and Lone Wolf 3.5# connectors in my Glocks and Lone Wolf's is the best hands down because it gives you the best 'break' with less take up and over travel. The other two connectors left a mushy feel in the trigger. You can get it from Glockparts.com for $15 HERE.

Comp Trigger Spring: The Comp Trigger Spring is a higher weight spring (6lbs vs 5lbs) and because the spring works with you pulling the trigger, not against you, the higher spring weight gives you a lighter and crisper pull. Glockparts.com has them for $5 HERE.

While you’re at it, give your Glock a 25¢ trigger job by following the instructions HERE. Its really quite simple to do and you’ll be pleased with the results.

I'm in the same boat, also looking at connectors.

I'd also be real interested in replacing the plastic glock trigger with a nice smooth-faced part if anyone has a suggestion for the G21 and G27 while... we're at it here.

I have a Glock 22 gen4 and installed a ghost 3.5 # connector, polished trigger bar and the competition spring kit in my gun. Never tried any others but I love everything about it. I probably shot around 1500 rds thru this gun the last 8 months or so ans it hasn't hiccupped once on me.

I seem about two days ago Midway has a 2.5# connector (think its glockworx) for $10.00 and spring kit for $4.00. I would probably still buy ghost again just because it doesn't feel spungy and I've loved just everything about it but who knows maybe others are every bit as good.

I just looked on Midwayusa and they sell 3 different ones. Only 3 stars for Lonewolf, 4 stars for Sherere or however they spell it. And I didnt look at the ratings of the glockworx and that one is a 2 lb connector. I purchased the ghost 2.5 at the gun store where I bought my g4 22. I think it was 20 dollars there and thats all they sold was ghost. And they installed it for free.They are nothing to install yourself as there is a clip on ghost or tons on youtube. The only problem I ever had is once I put alot of oil on mine and it wouldnt reset. Wiped oil off and kicking butt again. I believe where most people are having problems is they are installing it wrong or someone else is or they are using way too much oil where oil shouldnt be used.

Brownells has the 3.5 #ghost for $11.99. Like I said some may feel alittle better or not. Not that one is any better than others, Im sure theyre pretty much the same probably. But I chose the ghost and that is all they offer at the gun store I bought from and would not hesitate to get a ghost again. Just next time I would buy off internet and save about $11.00

Well here's the plan. The G17 will likely get the Scherer 3.5 that we have on hand (currently installed in a G20). The G17 is intended for the boy, who has been shooting the G20 (loaded down) with the Scherer, in club IDPA matches.

With the swap, the boy will get a pull that he is somewhat familiar with, as the connector was in the 10mm he started with. The G20 will go back to stock, until I figure what I want to do next.

We started with the 10mm/G20 'cause it was in the safe and seemed easiest system to teach. The G17 will now be his "match" pistol. The G20/10mm will go deer hunting again this fall, and before my eyes get any worse, I will again try to take a deer with it. The match is a week away, but there is much time before we hunt.

I have used Ghost connectors in all my Glocks for years and have installed them for friends. Everyone, including me, has never complained. I guess I have installed 25-30.

I've tried several and the Glockworx connector has worked best for me. I get a very smooth pull through on the trigger with them.

Well, the Scherer came out of the G20/10mm and went into the G17, and the resulting trigger in the G17 was superior in smoothness and pull weight to the previously equipped big brother.

Could not find another Scherer so I ordered a Ghost 3.5 and it went into the G20 that had lost its connector to its little brother. The result was the G20's pull is now better than what it was when the Scherer model was on board.

Win /win .

This is good news to me, as I was thinking I might have to drop $135 or more on a drop-in system to get my Glock triggers more where I want them to be (shorter take-up and reset with a more crisp break).

For a CCW gun? It works fine on my duty gun. It's not as dangerous as you think. My gun breaks at 3.1#s. if I have to point it at someone just rest your finger on the trigger or leave your finger outside the trigger guard. I love it really. I went with the ghost 3.5 connector and the competition spring kit. That's been about 9 months but I shoot my gun about every day or every other. So I'm real familiar not like someone who daily carries and shoots once or twice a year.

The resultant pull on out two Glocks is not necessarily shorter or crisper.

It is smoother and a bit lighter, with none of the stacking that was apparent before with the stock connectors.

I hear that installing the comp spring will create a short and crisp trigger, but I did not want to go that route.

Cannot advise on a CCW trigger, but the best safety is your noggin and rule 3.

After reading these posts I'm still confused about which 3.5 connector shooters are talking about at times? Ghost advertises a drop-in 3.5 connector but also shows the 3.5 Rocket and 3.5 Ultimate. I think the latter two require a slight mod while the first one is a drop-in. I ordered a $30 3.5 connector from Glock Store but am not sure which model it is. Still have not received an order confirmation as to the exact model. I won't receive the part till next week.

Will the drop-in give me a satisfactory improvement on my G17 gen 4? I use it for some competition but also some carry. I didn't realize, and the Glock Store guy was not too informed, about the different models or which I was ordering. I first wanted the drop-in Glock 3.5 but they were out of stock. So, not sure what I'm getting and don't want to modify anything. Comments appreciated.
