1911 NM .38 Special mid-range

Earlier this year I glommed a S&W model 52-2...

Those guns are apparently much nicer to shoot than the blowback Mk. III.

I thought all those factory .38s were blowback, the Mk III just the last attempt with grooved chamber and improved throat. Maybe the OP will take his apart and show us the works.

You may be right; I thought the early Colts were like the AMU and Clark guns, with pivoting barrel.
