Browning BPS Shotgun

How can I tell what era BPS shotgun I have? I read where a person said that there is a toggle up in the receiver that turns it into a single shot that somehow keeps the shells in the reservoir from actuating into the next shell to be shot or something like that. The article said to look up into receiver and there is a switch with two letters. Like A and O and it should be on one for normal pumping and the other for shooting as a single shot. Any help? Thanks!

I think the Trap model had that. It's a little switch on the front edge of the loading port.
