Colt Root Revolver Carbine
Featured on the back page article of this month's American Rifleman. What a rarity!

I was watching an old western the other day, Barquero, with Warren Oates and Lee Van Cleef, and a woman was shooting one at the bad guys.
The Italians made some repros of them some years ago but they were poor sellers. They were expensive and I never saw one in person, so don't know about the quality. |

I used to catch a lot of Lee van Cleef flicks in the '70s. I don't think I've seen that one.

Allot of burnt cheeks that carbine introduced its shooters too. I think that may have been one reason for its limited popularity. The Spencer and Henry may have been the other reason.

Didn't "Bull" (played by Arthur Hunnicutt) carry one in the movie El Dorado?

IIRC the Berdan Sharpshooters were issued them early on, they didn't like them.
