30-30 150 grain plated bullets

I am asking for some information and reloading data. I purchased xtreme 150 grain played .308 FP bullets for my 30-30 and plan to do some plinking. The round should not exceed 1500 FPS per manufacture so my question is

Does anyone have a tested powder load and velocity at 1500 FPS or less?

Obviously the reloading manuals do not show 1500 FPS or less for 150 grain 30-30 FP and I normally use the Speer manual for plates bullets from xtreme bullets.

Thanks for the information and help!

Ralph

Having a tested load isn't the same thing as having a guaranteed good load that will work great in your rifle.

Check out cast bullet reloading data, that's where you should look for plated bullet data.

But....

10gr of 2400 should get you around 1,000 fps if you want a subsonic load.

10gr of Unique should get you between 1450 fps and 1550 fps depending on all the other factors involved in handloading. Start at 9 grains and work up until your accuracy is good.

I use 17g(+/-) of IMR 4227 with 165g coated MBC bullets. I'm getting 1550-1600fps consistently in a 1981 model 94AE.

YMMV

Data is for 170gr cast, but should be fine with 150gr...You'll get a little more velocity from the 150's...

Ok thanks for the info. Just thought someone had a rifle load with plated bullets they would share with me. I have been reloading since 1978 but have not used plated rifle bullets before, only plated pistol bullets..

Will try the loads stated here and also look at the lead loads as suggested.

Thanks again
