E. Remington and sons Ilion N.Y. shotgun

i just purchased a double barrel shotgun. all i know about is it says E Remington and Sons Ilion N.Y. on top between the barrels. under the barrels above the frame it as marked as follows 8079 and also the # 59
under each barrel they are identically marked as HP running the length of the barrel and a P bellow them. any and all help is appreciated

That sounds like an 1882 Model, made from 1882 to 1888.. Remington made approximately 16,000 of them in 6 different grades.... JFC
