Wet your whistle...or your can
I understand many add a little something to their can to run it wet and make it work more efficiently. I've heard of all sorts of goop and stuff.
Was wondering if anyone tried to run Marvel Mystery Oil in their can. I can see a couple of advantages. #1 - It's combustible, therefore will eventually leave the can. #2 - It burns totally clean, no residue #3 - It removes carbon deposits #4 - It was invented to reduce lead deposits in Aviation Aircraft engines #5 - It smells good |

I believe that the liquid aids in cooling the gasses.
Water works well for me. I question the benefit of using "combustible" fluids. Though I may try some 93 octane unleaded this evening... p |

I've never heard of anyone using oil in their can. But, what one guy was using was a Sam's sized bottle of hand sanitizer. It's a gell, and since it's mostly just water and alcohol, it evaporates nicely leaving little or no residue. They guy swore buy this stuff.
Two things. First, not all cans are made to be shot wet. You don't want to go gunking up a can that was made to be a dry can. Second, whatever "stuff" you use in your can needs to have a high rate of evaporation - that's what absorbs and converts some of the sound energy. |

Some of AWC's cans are meant to be shot with lithium grease in them.

Running petroleum products is very stinky/smoky, other than that it will work I guess it will also blow back into your gun making it extra messy.
