I've been wanting to make some sort of improvised cleaning device myself for some time. My latest design idea uses no electricity at all. I've been inspired by a small container of 9mm brass that I keep forgetting to take out of the back seat of the car. Every time I make a turn it rolls and makes all sorts of noise. My thought is that you can put tumbling media in there and have a few of those in the trunk. After a few weeks of normal city driving I'll have clean brass for almost nothing.

Nice work...but, is it not cheaper/easier to buy a tumbler made for the job?

I like the inventiveness that we develop trying to save money. Its wonderful to then stick that saved money into reloading components.

Using the washing machine, dishwasher, or treadmill will eventually cause enough pain with the spouse that in the end you will be "forced" to buy a real tumbler made for the job.

I guess we do whatever it takes to keep reloading so we can keep shooting.

I'm not married anymore, but if I had used any of those devices to clean brass when I was.....
