52gr .224 Match grade HP??

I just recently bought a box of blackhills factory new .52gr match grade hollows points from blackhills. The bullets have a cannalure on them...Im just trying to figure out who makes this bullets and what its specs are. thx

It's unusual for a jacketed match bullet to have a cannelure. Sierra makes separate cannelured version of the 77 grain MatchKing that was originally intended for military ammo (to better tolerate rough handling). I don't know who makes the bullet you are describing.

The other curious thing about that bullet is the rather abrupt departure of the ogive from the bearing surface in the side shot. Makes it appear to be a secant ogive design, something usually done only with VLD's.

I did finally get a hold of black hills. The bullet is a hornady bthp with a bc of
.229. thx guys.

They must of had Hornady do a special run because Hornady's 52gr BTHP doesn't normally come with a cannelure.

before i call blackhills... i looked at hornady, nosler, and serria and couldnt find anything in the 52gr range with a cannalure....but after calling the company those were the specs they gave.
