Need Suggestions, what bullets do you use? (...besides your own)
My husband has decided that he had better start handloading if we are going to continue shooting at the rate we have been... We have a good line on equipment and components, except bullets. Our mentor sources make their own. (We'll buy ours to start).
We are going to load .45, .40, 9mm and eventually .223 We will need lead for the handgun calibers and also FMJ in .40 and 9mm, (unless you guys have some other suggestions about loading for Glocks too). What are your best sources for reasonably priced good quality bullets? Please let me know how to contact them too Thanks in advance folks, I know we'll get some good info here. Any other thoughts would be appreciated too. Cydnee

I have had excellent results with National Bullet Co. copper plated. No leading at velocities near jacketed. They are very hard cast (brinel 18) then plated. they also have good prices on jacketed, but haven't shot them.
http://www.nationalbullet.com/ Oregon Trails Lazer-Cast bullets are excellent.. Very hard cast with 7 metals including silver to achieve a quality bullet that does not need plating. A real big plus, their low prices include shipping. And in todays economy, shipping can be almost as much as the bullets. http://www.laser-cast.com/ best wishes, Shoney |

HANDGUN COMPONENTS
Rainier Bullets (perfect plated projectiles for 9x19, 40 S&W, and 45ACP), Beartooth and Cast Performance (extreme-quality cast lead bullets), and any sales on Remington, Winchester, Hornady, Speer, and Sierra.

I've used lots of West Coast and Rainier plated bullets in .38 Special, 9MM, and .357 Sig.
Have seen good pricing and purchased from time to time the Winchester 9mm 115 gr FMJ which makes a great plinking round. In .223 for plinking loads I use either the Winchester or Remington bulk 55 gr. FMJ. For target work I've had good success lately with 69gr Sierra HPBT Matchkings. Take Care |

If you're looking for match quality bullets for a slow-twist .223, I'd recommend Bart's 52 grainers... Sinclair sells 'em - I think they run about $17/100 or so...

Berry's sells good copper plated bullets which will work in a polygonal barrel at reduced velocities. How reduced is something you'll need to experiment with, but they are 30% cheaper than jacketed bullets.
Jacketed bullets aren't cheap anywhere. I've found my best prices at gun shows, but Midway usually has good prices.

several good sources
Dillon precision in Prescott AZ sells the Meister hard cast/hard swaged bullets. I've had good luck with them and dillon's delivery time is fast. Very high quality castings.
Various mass production outfits are scattered around the country and most turn out pretty good and inexpensive products. the swaged lead numbers from Hornady are very accurate and work well at target through slightly above factory standard velocities. they are a bit more expensive than the machine cast ones. Dry Creek Bullets -yahoo search engine will find it- specializes in a variety of Keith type bullets but also supplies several autopistol bullet types as well as a couple of gaschecked .30 rifle numbers. Quality is custom grade- none better.. The Ballisticast molds are geared toward mass production and these bullets are economical. the attached group is one I fired Off hand- NRA stance at 25 yards with my Superblackhawk and the 250 grain Dry Creek Ballisti-cast over 21.2 2400 and cci 300 primer. You would also be well advised to check out my other links with retailers names, who also sell a variety of bullets as well as other items. It took me about a month of research to compile this list, you'll enjoy it. [email protected]
