A N.Y. assemblyman at it again...
Anybody catch this on TTAG site?
New York Bill Would Mandate Individually ‘Coded’ and Registered Ammunition https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/ne...ed-ammunition/

As usual, feasibility, facts, and costs be damned. Well, feasibility and facts, anyway. The antigunners just plan to pass the costs on to us, regardless.

Coming from the same people that decided "bail reform" means putting career criminals back on the street so they can keep stealing.

They already tried this in the early 2000's. It cost over $4 million/year, and according to SAAMI, it never turned up a single hit.

Since I entered the State of Florida, moved from Toronto Canada, Dec-4th-2004
and applied for Green Card status. My Son was a citizen. I became aware that New Yorkers were also going that route. Our two weather conditions seemed to be very similar! More or less a lot of cold! As a retired Firearms Instructor, I could now carry my Glock 19, that I had a Lic to carry for a few years already. In Florida, not Canada. Because I applied and obtained one, via mail. It was able to be obtained (Prior to 9-11 by the simple way of first getting a Hunting Lic. From Michigan) when my Green Card was obtained, address changed to Florida. The freedom of holstering my Glock 19 every day, total freedom. And as I say to any visitors from the UK, the purpose of having the ability to carry a 9-mm pistol, every day is not because of fear, it is just because I can. An N.Y. assemblyman, and what he does in NY? I could care less, just stay in NY Is my advice. The President likes Florida, yes? Moved here. |

Such laws are attempts to thwart the clear meaning of the law. Judges don't usually look upon them kindly. And, as we get more Federalist Society judges added to the courts I hoping that we will start getting slews of cases voted in our favor soon.

Just one of - many, many, many bills that contain the word "ammunition".
Just go here: https://nyassembly.gov/leg/?sh=advanced Enter ammunition (or guns or any other search term you wish) and see all the bills. One reason things like the "watch dog" organizations exist is to track this sort of thing, follow the progress then alert those concerned about what's going on. |

SCOPENY also keeps a really good list of proposed laws. See: https://www.scopeny2a.org/new-york-state-legislation
