i did it!! 45-70
i reloaded my first rifle cartridges tonight. they were 45-70, i used a lee turret press i got for christmas. imr 4320 3.4 dipper 405 grain jsp. cant wait to shoot them . thanks denny

I was so excited when I made my first round I decided to keep it. Still sits on my computer desk. Have fun with your new hobby (obsession) and remember be safe!

45-70
ouch!!!!!
Did the 45-70 break my shoulder? Shooting the 300 or 350 grain bullets will be more comfortable. |

well i shot 5 rounds today, they all shot great. and no the recoil didnt break my sholder. they kicked less than i thought. thanks denny

I don't know what rifle you have, but the 45-70 is one of my favorite rounds,,, hence,, the screen name.. The nice thing is you can load from mild to wild in the right gun. I use a Ruger #1 and have loaded everything from standard issue rounds to ones getting real close to a 458 mag. I think I like the std. ones better, less recoil on the bench.
