Bought a LNIB Beretta 92fs Inox

I bought a LNIB Beretta 92fs Inox made in the USA stamp for $500 it was made in 2000 with original box and papers.The condition is close to brand new since it looks like it sat in a safe for the most part the wear is non existent.
It included one -10 round mag already bought some Mec gar 18 round mags for it from Wilson Combat online shop.I like Beretta 92 series better then Glocks so I am selling my Glock 22 and keeping my 26 for carry. Let me know what your experiences are with Beretta 92.

I have had my Taurus clone for over 25 years and it's been great. I have had a Beretta 96 (40 caliber version) for six months or so and it's been great too. If it fits your hand well, chances are very good that you will like it a LOT.

I was in the USN. Qualified as Expert.

It's a good gun out to 50 yards. Heavy as a brick. Heavy double action trigger. I bought the Italian import when I was in medical school, then traded it for a P220 45 ACP. After I got out of the Navy, I bought it again. I liked it. But I grew tired of it. It didn't have Tritium night sights. Something that I've been accustomed to using on my Glocks. So I sold it in exchange for some renovations on the house. I liked it for the nostalgia.

I have a 92FS Inox I purchased new in Jan. 2010 for $650.00. In my opinion, it is a beautiful pistol and has served me well.

I bought it for Home defense I prefer it over striker fire guns I shoot better with DA/SA guns.

It is a fine pistol and you got it at a good price. It will be a soft shooting and accurate pistol.

If the DA trigger pull seems too heavy, you can install a lighter mainspring, the one in the grip which propels the trigger. There are lighter-than-factory weights of spring which will still pop primers. I suggest going to a Beretta forum for discussion of such.

Does yours have a rail? If so, you have the potential of hanging a bright light under your Home defense pistol. Not a bad idea.

Wilson Combat now offers thin G-10 grips which make the grip seem a little thinner. I've put those on both a full-sized and a compact M92 and think they are worth the money.

It does not have a light rail.
I was born in 1990 so I grew up watching Lethal Weapon trilogy and other 80's and 90's actions films that almost all had a M9 or 92FS in.It was and still is my favorite handgun of all. I carry Glock but still have a place for the 92FS in some role. Makes a great open carry gun if I ever visit Arizona sometime.
I see most films made now mainly feature Glocks and Sigs more then Beretta which makes sense since most PDs and bad guys now go for striker fire guns and maybe an occasional revolver.

Had my black finish 92 since 2012, with nary a hiccup or failure of any kind.

Granted, she is bathed regularly and cared for.

Added a few of the WC modifications: hammer spring, fluted guide rod, single side safety, and oversize mag release.

I like the changes, and it still runs great

I purchased a Beretta 92FS for my sister when I moved out of my mom's house.

I fired it a good bit at the range I worked at at the time. It was a smooth shooter, but for for me.

She seems to like it a lot. I think it shoots well. Overall good gun.

The PX4 compact carry has gotten my attention as another carry alternative to my Glock 26 but its $700+ even after $75 rebate so I will wait until I make some more money to buy it.I only carry hammer fired DA/SA semi-autos that have a decocker only type function otherwise I stick with striker fire for carry. I have owned a 40 PX4 compact that was great but I regretfully sold it for something else at the time.

I have an inox 92FS. Added the oval-checkered walnut grips. Beautiful pistol, very smooth, good accuracy, 100% reliable.

The lighter spring referred to above is the D spring, available from Beretta and a variety of aftermarket suppliers. Not a hard change, and lightens the DA trigger noticeably.

I own a number of handguns, and have owned many more that no longer are in my lineup. My Beretta 92fs is one of my all time favorites. No, it's not ultra light polymer with the latest "tacticool" features. It's an accurate, reliable, fun to shoot handgun that I absolutely love. I enjoy even racking the slide and feeling the smooth action and the way things "click and clack" into place.

As another poster indicated, you can get a "D" spring that will make your double action pull feel smoother and lighter. It's a factory part that does not degrade your pistol's reliability or function in any way; it's what Beretta used in their DAO "D" models of the 92fs.

Enjoy your Beretta; it is one of the classic handgun designs with roots in the Walther P38. And, of course, it's the quintessential 1980's "cool" handgun for sure!

I've got a circa 1994 Inox.
The Inox 92's are the very depiction of beautiful.
Especially when they are full inox on the levers.

The 92 is big and heavy for it's caliber by today's comparison but they shoot really nice and are very reliable.

These are full size service weapons that will last a lifetime with minimal care.
I have a few Taurus that I actually prefer for carry because of the frame safety and lifetime warranty.

Congrats on your new 92FS! I have one for home defense duties, while my Px4 Storm subcompact is my lawful EDC. The 92FS remains the most reliable semi-auto I've ever had.

I have two plus a 96 INOX. These guns shoot as good as they look, awesome pistols, very accurate, very reliable.

Took mine to the range today and am very pleased with how it shot.
Put several mags full of FMJ and different hollow point ammo from +p to standard pressure with Mecgar 20 and 18 round mags even a old 15 round mag from early 90s and it was perfect. Accuracy was better than any Glock I have owned even though I was function testing it and not precision aiming it at target at 10 or so yards.
So I bought some v crown 147 grains ammo and put my 20 round mag in and loaded the 18 round mags and put it in my desk for home defense gun.
If the gun wasn't so heavy and bulky I would carry it over the glock 26 I have.

Me too. One of the most (along with S&W "Third Generation") under-rated pistols out there, imo.
