New to me Glock 23

So I went to the LGS to pick up 4 boxes of ammo for a range trip and ended up leaving with a Glock 23 ! I really should not be allowed to go to the LGS ever LOL.

I will say that this purchase was totally my wife's fault and she even admits it. She has been looking at Glock 23's for quite a while and I kept telling her when I find a good deal I will jump on it.......Well today the guy I usually deal with tells me to come over here and take a look at this...... I walk over and there is a Gen 3 Glock 23. He gets is out and I look at it and unfortunately it has a bit more wear and tear on it then I wanted so I handed it back and said yeah it's a bit more rough than I really wanted. He says no worries I got 5 more in the back for you to look at. We go back there and I end up finding one that has almost no noticeable wear on it at all! In fact the other 4 I looked at were almost worn smooth where you grip the gun and this baby looks like it has hardly been handled. Then to top that off it has Trijicon Night Sights already installed on it and came with two mags, a case, mag loader, and all the original paperwork. I ended up walking out of there with it for $359.00. How do you think I did?

After shooting the Glock 23 I am selling my Smith and Wesson Sigma as I won't be shooting it much anymore! Yes the Glock 23 is that much better

I'd say you did good. Especially with the current buying frenzy. Some sellers are taking advantage of the dumb a$$es that are willing to pay upwards of $700-$800 for used Glocks.

Gotta love a G23--extremely versatile. Great price; especially these days.

You can't go wrong with a Glock 23. The grip lenght is long enough to give a 3 finger grip and good control without being too long to conceal under light summer clothes. The overall length is short enough that you can carry it outside the belt and it won't stick down past the hemline on a normal lenght shirt. All with a 4 inch barrel to give you plenty of ballistic performance, what's not to like! I have a few handguns that I carry including a Glock 21 that can actually be concealed easily with the correct holster and clothing choice, but if I were forced to choose only one carry gun my Glock 23 would be the winner hands down! You did good!

Good thing it is a Glock! You can take apart the whole top assembly in no time and clean it up!

Nice find.

I looked it over top to bottom and the only bit of rust I could find was between the rear sight and slide and in the 90 degree corner of the extractor....... The firing pin is in great shape and the gun looks great other than those two things. The camera highlights both those features and they really aren't visible when you are looking at the gun. Just for kicks and giggles I tore it all down and ran everything through an ultrasonic alcohol bath and reassembled it.

I have shot it a couple of times now and still love it! I need to get a crossbreed holster for it so I can start carrying it some.

Far cry from the days when we used to buy police trade in G23's for $300.00. The last time our local police supply had a deal I bought two with four 15 round mags for just over $600.00. I had to give one to my son for Christmas to stay out of trouble with the boss. Still got both of them and a bag of spare parts.

Great weapons..............

Great pic riddle. And the 300 dollar Glocks are still out there. I'm a Leo and paid 412 for a new gen 4 model 22 and have a guy selling police trade in for 285. Maybe you have to have police license. Idk but they are still out there.

I'm sure Crossbreed makes a fine product, but you should check out Concealment Solutions. I received mine in less than a week.

Hey thanks for the heads up on concealment solutions...... They basically look like a crossbreed and I really like how you can adjust the cant on the holster!
