How Long could you keep shooting?

Just for discussion!!! If Hillary got elected and somehow banned the sale of Ammo, how long could you keep shooting?
I cast most of my own bullets and have a pretty good stash of powder and primers on hand. And I have a pile of 22 lr. on hand also. I do have a few cases of 7.62x39 on hand for my SKS's, but don't reload for them.
I think I could go for at least all of her first term, and probably her second if we were dumb enough to re-elect her!!! Just the thought of her in charge make me shake.....

If they banned it all that would happen is it would be available on the black market. I would just have to pay more for it. They can't stop illegal drugs or aliens from coming in this country. Ammo wouldn't be any different.

Scary thought, Lets all make sure we vote! A very small percentage of gun owners actually get out to vote. Think I recently heard the exact numbers for it on American Rifle man TV, but can't recall them.

answer: Not long enough...I should be loading insted of typing this response

Good question, at this point I am not sure at all(depends on what election you are asking about). I usually do make an attempt to look into the "gun related issues and standpoints of candidates" before I cast a vote.

NRA is a good source of info in this around election time. They do a pretty good job of getting info out about gun related issues around different election cycles. Not just the main high profile elections. I have found it to be an eye opener to see how senators and other state representatives vote on these issues.

Maybe we can have some good discussion on these issues in the Leagel and Political forum here at thefiringline.com when election time gets heated up.

I live in a BLUE AS BLUE CAN BE state, and there is no chance it won't go for Hillary if she's up for election. (Now, if we could only lop off everything North of I-80...) However, that won't keep me from voting ANYWAY. Same principle as that stuff in the Book of Daniel (3:18), "But if not...."

I just threw up a little in my mouth.

I could shoot indefinately at my current rate. I don't shoot during the winter months. During the winter I stockpile so I can shoot all summer without my reloading cutting into my shooting time.

Honest answer is less then a year. The current stock pile of ammo is only about 12,000 rnds, I shoot around 15 to 20 thousand a year and bullets are only at around 3000.

I need to stock up, but right now I want to clean up the supplies.

On the comments about Hillary, I don't believe it is possible for her to get elected unless the repubs do something bonehead. There is just to much fed up folks with that mentality in the heartland.

Then again, looking at what the repubs have done in the last 6 years, I see there is certainly a reasonable chance she could pull it out.

only

I only have a bit over 20,000 primers on my shelf but I could trade some of the zillions of cases and bullets for some more; I guess at my current rate of shooting about one year.

Hilary the Hilarious for President? Of what? Inquiring lesbians want to know.......

Bear in mind folks, that if guns and ammo were outlawed you'd be shooting a good deal less than you do now. So whatever you've got currently would last significantly longer than your present appetite consumes.

But, I'll state right here and now that outlawed guns and ammo will not stop me from maintaining my collection of either.

I suppose that's my line in the sand...

I was under the impression that Hillary Clinton was not eligible for the office of POTUS!

SHE was already POTUS for two terms.

If the sale of ammo or reloading supplies got banned in this country I would hope there would be a revolution.

In that case, I would probably be shooting a lot of reloads at guardsmen.

Then the ground will split and Satan will climb out and reign for 7 years.

LOL

Thank God that in my mind Hildog could never get elected because people are too smart.

Does that mean if Hildog gets elected I'm insane?

Hillary's voter base will mostly consist of poor uneducated women, I'm not trying to be rude here, it's just the facts. This is a sobering thought, if Hillary were elected it would be do to the ignorance of the American people :barf:
We can thank the public school system and the media for dumbing down America so we may someday achieve third world status

Sorry my post has nothing to do with reloading or the question of the thread.

There wouldn't be outright "bans", just a nip here and there...taxes on ammo, then reloading components (what do you think the hazmat shipping fee is)...just a little here and a little there...how much more are the prices of ammo and components now that a year ago? Due to the war? Perhaps. JMHO, FM12

Are there other reasons to STOCK UP NOW?

I started stocking up when the bitterly anti-gun president "Jimmie Caaatahhh" got elected in 1976.

Been dong it ever since.
