Fully supported chambers for .45 ACP +P ?
This picture shows the .45 acp cartridge inserted into the chamber of my S&W 4506 barrel.....my camera skills are lacking but hopefully you can see the case exposure going up the feed ramp ! I'm not sure what is considered supported and non- supported as far as how much case is exposed beyond the extractor groove ! There is only a slight smile of brass showing right under the feed ramp on mine ! So what would you consider my chamber as ? Thanks !

Usually, a .45 ACP barrel with a ramp is considered supported. All .45 ACP ammo is designed to be fired in the unsupported barrels of "1911s", so your Smith should certainly be able to handle +P.

I think their is one at my LGS. I'll check it. That gun has a rep for being one of the toughest factory 45's ever built. I've got the 4566tsw variant and I've "never" seen a bbl with more chamber support. But it may be slightly diff. Than yours.

Yep. The Gen 3 Smittys have some of the best chamber support around. And yet they feed empty cases from the mag....go figure.
