Scoring for D-1 precision target

My wife and son and I are doing the NRA Marksmanship Qualification course. Not very difficult compared with other competition events, but a fun family activity and we are really enjoying it so far (we are working on the Marksman First Class level)

Anyway, my question is on the D-1 precision target the rules mandate, specifically how it should be scored. The target has no scoring marks on it, only three rings, so is this scored 10-9-8, 10-7-5, 10-5-3, or what?

Sorry if this is a naive question, but no one at our range knew the answer to this (almost everyone there just fires at full-size silhouette, seemingly at random with no attempt that I can see to try and improve).

Thanks!

D1 "tombstone" target is scored X-10-8 (5 if on paper.)
X counts ten points toward total score.
Number of X's is used only for tiebreaker.

Jim:

Thanks-much appreciated. That makes the scoring for the NRA course somewhat easier than I thought for the stage we are on (Marksman First Class), but it is still a good family activity.
