powder choice

reloading 9mm luger, what are some good powder choices. have cfe pistol and titegroup on hand. also what is a good source to learn about burn rates and pressures for different pistol calibers

I use 231/HP-38 and Bullseye with 115 gr plated bullets. I like working with the 231/HP-38 best.

I just picked up a pound of Tite Group the other day and will try that out in the next month or so to see how I like it.

You can find burn rate charts on line from quite a few different sources. They are really only good to get you started in the right direction in picking out a desired powder by quickness of burn rate. Other than that they are not good for much. You need to consult a good manual for actual load charges and may will also list the pressure as well as velocity for a particular load.

I like Titegroup. I use it for a lot of different pistol rounds including 9mm.

Manuals have burn rate charts in them, pressures for different pistol cartridges you can get googling SAAMI (then whatever your cartridge is)

Hodgon hs-6 seems to be good. I'll shoot whatever I can get my hands on though.

I like titegroup for 9mm .... ( and .40, .45 acp, .357 mag & .44 mag)...

I use 700 x. Burns fast and clean, but doesn't meter consistently through the RCBS Uniflow.

Power Pistol was made for 9mm and is one of the best for it. I've had great results with 3N37, N350 and the now discontinued SR4756. WSF, Auto Comp and Ramshot Silhouette should be great in it too.

I like TiteGroup as my target/plinking 9mm powder.

I also use Blue Dot, Universal, BullsEye, HP-38, HS-6, and Clays for 9mm and 45GAP. Certain bullets like some powders better than others.

What model of gun is going to shoot these (specifically, barrel length)?

What's the specific purpose for the ammunition to be loaded?

Speaking generically, TiteGroup is a good choice for general range practice rounds. Being rather fast, it will make particularly balanced rounds using lighter bullets. I prefer plated or jacketed with TiteGroup.

I use hp-38 and 700x. I prefer hp-38, mainly because I cannot get 700x to meter anywhere near consistent.
