New line of Glock pistols
Glock is teasing about a new model to be announced in January - presumably at SHOT. That is the Glock 42.
This begs two questions - what is the Glock 42?! by the faint profile in the background, I'm going to assume we are looking at a single-stack 9mm. The second questions is, WHAT IS THE 40 and 41 - since Glocks numbering sequence are sequential. Probably a single stack .40 as well and...... perhaps a .380? Should be good times.

Although perhaps they will forgo making a 'Glock 40'.... that would just create confusion among the elite FBI operators that are the only ones responsible enough to handle the glock fotay.

Presumably, they are finally getting onboard the LC9, P3AT, MK9, Rohrborg small, flat 9mm bandwagon. Like a G36 in 9mm scale.

New line of Glock pistols
I would love a Glock that competes with the Kahr P9 (or even the PM9) in terms of size.
If the 42 were a .380, wouldn't it suffer from the same lack of GCA '68 import points as their models 25 and 28? Last edited by Brian Pfleuger; November 26, 2013 at 09:56 AM. |

New line of Glock pistols
I’m guessing a 380 if it’s that small.
Anyone have a lighter that can measure the length then we can figure the size of the gun? Last edited by Brian Pfleuger; November 26, 2013 at 09:57 AM. |

Im guessing its a single stack 9mm such as the Kahrs XDs and Shield. its a good niche and glocks been missing out.

Am I excited? Honestly, no. There is the Shield, XDs, PPS. There are also the Kahrs which some folks like. There is far from a shortage currently of single stack 9mms out there. The only difference is what name is written on the slide. It makes sense for Glock as a manufacturer. Their customers currently have to go elsewhere if looking for that type of gun. But for me as a consumer it doesn't really interest me.

Hopefully a single stack 9mm.
I'd almost certainly buy one. I'm all set on the .380. The Glock 40 should be chambered in .22 It would be delightfully confusing.

As much as I like my Bersa BP9CC, I only own it because: there is no Glock in that size; and I didn't care for the PPS magazine release, nor the long trigger reset of the Kahr.

I think a lot of other brands would care...greatly whether it is a .380 or single stack 9mm.
At least we can say that Glock does not get swayed by the latest market forces...to be nice about it anyway. Eventually something comes out, but it takes a few years. But, I am glad up to this point the mags within a caliber have all been interchangeable, except the G36.

Hopefully a small single stack 9mm. A 380 would be a waste of time.

New line of Glock pistols
With concealed carry growing by leaps and bounds in the past decade and all 50 states now with some form if it, there is a HUGE market for thin sub-compact pistols. Almost every other major gun maker has taken advantage of this market but Glock, but better late than never. If it is a single stack 9mm it will be a huge seller.

I MIGHT be interested in a single stack 9 around the size of the LC9 or PT709 (those are the two I have experience with). Unfortunately, I am on a strict no new guns for five years. sacrifices we make for children....
Anyway, it might force me to sell or trade some stuff away. There is no rule against that... It may be my first Glock.. |

My hope would be that they look nothing like a Glock.

I think it's a pocket sized .380 to compete with the rest out there. If the Zippo is to scale, it's definitely a .380. If it's a teeny sized 9mm, no thanks. I already had a Kimber Solo that small which wasn't pleasant.

New line of Glock pistols
I'm really hoping for a true pocket 9, the size of a Kahr PM9.

I don't care for Glocks at all, so I won't be purchasing one, but it is always interesting to see what different companies come out with. I'm curious to see what their new models are.
And as others have stated, I think it is definitely about time that Glock jumped on the small single stack bandwagon. It represents a large segment of the market that Glock was missing out on. Perhaps the success of the Springfield XDs, Kahr PM series, Ruger LCP and LC9, S&W Bodyguard and S&W Shield, and ALL of the other small carry guns that sell like crazy made them reconsider. |
