Got a Kimber, my first 1911, chambered in 10mm!

Well after reading thousands of posts about how unreliable and crappy Kimbers were, I got one to find out for myself.

Its chambered in 10mm, shoots very straight. Bought it used, but it seems pretty un-used. It had a few blemishes on the finish, and uh I put an idiot mark on it (this being my first 1911 and all), but I easily corrected that with some Scotch Brite.

This video explains scotch brite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsaHryvoakY

Good information! (Bad camera work...thought I might need a Dramamine during the first 2/3 but it got much better once the camera stayed in one place.)

Just a note: it's a 17 minute video and using the scotch brite pad starts at 14 minutes into it.

One thing you can do if you put an idiot mark on a 1911 and somebody mentions it is just fix them with a steely eyed gaze and say sarcastically "If you're field stripping it in the dark and the sand and you kind of need to get your pistol back in operation quickly these things sometimes happen."

Nice Eclipse, I'm sure you will soon find out that Kimber makes a great product. For every basher, there are many more happy customers. I have three Kimber's and they are all awesome.

Congratulations on the new pistol. The 10mm is a fun round to shoot as a change. What kind of ammo have you been able to find for it?

Congrats, pretty guns but I'm partial to Glocks myself. I would like to see if they could keep up with a glock when wearing them out at the range. I really hope they could. Never owned one just hear the horror stories. Too rich for my blood and like a polymar to carry all day but that's just me

A friend of mine messes with me because I use the term 'sexy' to describe certain guns sometimes.

That gun is sexy though...
