OOPS!!! Gotta pull some bullets...
I overcharged 100 rounds and have to pull the lead. No problem there.
I have a Dillion 550B and was wondering if I were to take the depriming pin out of die #1, would I be safe and not set off the already loaded primers in the brass? Or should I pull the die in station one all together? |

No, don't size the loaded rounds. It can ruin the case tension that holds the bullets. Pull the size die.

Thanks for the reply. That is simple enough to do.

I hate it when that happens.

If you are pulling out the bullets why can't you resize I would.Just take the deprimeing pin out.And just start loading like normal,I do all my primers by hand then reload never had a problem yet

I've had to pull some bullets, when I do, I make sure that the primer catch tray is empty and then resize, take the primer and put it back in and seat it, then move over to station two and then rebell the case and dump the powder in and reseat the bullet and recrimp. Takes longer to extract the bullet than it does to fix it. It would depend on the die if I were to take out the depriming pin. But I see where that would be a better way to do it. Safer for sure.

Went ahead and took the sizing/depriming die out. Adjusted the powder charge to the PROPER amount and reloaded the 100 rounds that I had pulled.
After loading and not using die #1, every round went through my Dillion case guage. All is well once more. |
