Ruger Conversion?
I have an older Super Blackhawk. Would it be possible for a good gunsmith to convert it into 45 Colt? If so, who would take on something like this?

It would be a fine conversion! Most any of the big name revolversmiths would do that job, as long as you don't want a five shot. Most won't build them for the Old Models.
John Linebaugh Dustin Linebaugh Hamilton Bowen David Clements Jim Stoh Alan Harton Andy Horvath Ben Forkin ...and probably several more I'm forgetting. |

Not only is it possible, by most accounts you'd end up with a better gun than a standard Ruger large-frame 45LC. The 44 cylinder gets reamed to a very tight and proper 45LC in every dimension, something Ruger was incapable of for a long time...they've gotten better of late thank the deity of your choice....

For less money you could simply buy a new Blackhawk in .45Colt and then you'd have two great handguns and money left over.
