Looking for an AR 15 in CA.
Hey, my brother in CA (central valley) is looking for an AR 15.
Any tips on where to look would be appreciated. Life is good. Prof Young |

Is he up to date on all the laws here ? The only type you can get and or build are what's called featureless . CA has designated several features common to the AR platform as qualifying them as assaults weapons which can no longer be sold here . The definition is something like - any semi auto center fire rifle with a detachable magazine with any one of the following features - pistol grip , flash hider , forward grip , and a bunch more I can't think of off the top of my head .
Your question leads me to believe he has tried his local gun stores with no luck and may be looking for a private sale ? Either way I'd suggest trying a look see over at the calguns forum , you will have many more CA residents responding to include people in his area . http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/index.php Semi auto general forum http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/f...splay.php?f=67 Long gun sales http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/f...splay.php?f=92 My recommendation is buy a stripped lower then build the rest but as I'm sure you know this couldn't be a worst time to want that type of firearm . Even if you do find what your looking for it won't be cheap like they used to be . Good luck hope it works out MG
