As much as I like the BHP, a 228 re-furb would be a marginal top choice in a double wide carry 9X19.

What for? CC carry, pleasure shooting, backup gun for hunting? Maybe a Glock 23 for CC or a 22 for anything else.

Big fan of the 9mm & I've never had a single problem with any Glocks I've fired so I'd have to say G17, the 19 is my favorite but I know it's technically a compact.

SA XD45 is MY first choice. Sig would be my next choice.
If you go 1911, Colt is my choice with Chip;s Shooting star ro Wilson's mags.
