I used to light load a AMT 380 backup as light as I could.

Nasty little gun, light loads were a big help.

Light loads are great if you are shooting for accuracy, nothing wrong with it. Not everyone is John Wayne, there is a lot of enjoyment in getting pin point accuracy.

My 22 target rifle shooting did not get me any game, but I loved doing it, and yes I knew if I wanted to take down Moose and Caribou I had to be decent with a bigger bore and harder kicking gun.

With a handgun, but I would be far more afraid of someone who was a good shot and could place them accurately than some wild bullet sprayer.
