Darth Vader shoots USPSA

Halloween is one of the best times of the year, a time where we all get to put on costumes and pretend to be someone/thing else. This year's Halloween Mini-Monster match was organized by the Down Zero crew and it was really fun!

I shot the entire match as Darth Vader. It was really hard to shoot while wearing the mask though but I had to do it.

Thanks to all of you who came in costumes!

Well done. The cape smoothed out all the scurrying steps stage to stage, you sort of flowed through it.

You realize that even your open class pistol doesn't do justice to the costume.
Where's your nuclear powered plasma gun?

You can't fool me, I knew from the start this wasn't the real Darth Vader.

You see, a Jedi would never use a weapon as clumsy and random as a blaster. Not once in the video did I see you use an elegant weapon from a more civilized age.

Nice try bud.

That range banned the use of lightsabers, especially red ones. They said those could get someone killed on the streets.

"The force will be with you...always."

It seemed you moved with the stealth and quickness of a Jedi Master.

we just held our end of year "twilight double header match last month.

We shoot IDPA and set up 5 stages that we shot in the afternoon. All the stages were Halloween themed. Then we had a potluck steak dinner cook out.
After we were finished eating we shot the stages again in the dark with flashlights.
IDPA rules do not allow gun mounted lights so it was a real challenge to do reloads while holding a light in your support hand, especially if you were doing a reload with retention.

I learned it's really hard to learn to aim a light and a gun at the same time.

My scores for the first half were not to bad by my standards, I managed to beat several shooters in my division and one shooter in the division above mine, (SSP Sharpshooter, while I shoot CCP Marksman.) The night time stages I did terrible though finishing dead last for the entire match.

The thing is I designed two of the stages and one of those was the one that really but me in the bottom!

It was cold and dark and we didn't get home till after 11 PM but it was a riot!

I'm sure we will be doing this match again next year.
