Didn't cast today..... just coated.
The theme here today was Smoke's blue in the caliber of 30-30 Win.
I did some of these in Hi-Tek too..... but of course tumbling and tossing onto wire isn't going to be as slick as spraying. They size smoothly though and probably will shoot well. I did do a tray of leftover mixed .35's... but it was mostly a 30-30 day.

I notice you got the powder coat around the gas checks and even underneath a small portion of the bullet. How did you accomplish that ? They look great!

My spraying tray elevates the bullets so they get a good coat all the way down.

Great technique, you must have steadier hands than I do for carrying those rifle bullets without them falling over. Believe me, I've tried and cannot accomplish it.

There's a trick to it. I'm going to do a pictorial on it soon. Hardly anybody could carry the longer rifle boolits standing upright, especially standing on 6-32 hex nuts!
There's always the Hi-Tek shake-n-bake and toss it on some hardware cloth (twice) technique though. It's pretty easy, but seems a little messier and smellier for me than PC. I can blow all the dust away with the air hose when I'm finished with PC, but that paint and acetone gets everywhere if you aren't careful with the HT. I haven't shot any of the HT yet, but I have seen that several guys are using it in their rifles with success. After testing out the application though, I think I'll stick with PC after I use up this can of HT.

Well thanks to Beagle333 I am getting there...not as pretty but definitely better looking! Thanks Beagle333! Can't wait to get the powder coat gun, just so much faster for my needs! Till then the tumble tub with plastic BB's works fine. Also notice that using rubber gloves I can rub in any missing spots by rotating it in my hand...just forgot if you suggested it or if I read it?!
How the .45's look...

Dang, those look good! Much better than my tumbled ones. The humidity here doesn't work for me. I just can't get consistent tumbling. Sometimes they are pretty and sometimes I don't even bake 'em, I just wash the powder off in the sink and get out the sprayer. It doesn't look like you even need the sprayer if you can get results like that on a regular basis!

Speckles are easy to do.... I just don't clean out the jar when I change powder colors. They don't seem to mix, but just form a speckled pattern.
