Thermal or Passive NV on AR 15s?

I am interested in mounting a thermal or passive NV scope on my AR. I want to be able to tell hogs from dogs at 500 yards. ATN indicated that their new THOR 4 thermal scope can do that. However, they can't or won't supply video showing much past 200 yards. Pulsar XP50 is pretty clear, but again, they will not provide videos past 200 yards. I suspect I need to purchase cheapest thermal for quick identification and a high end Gen 3+ passive scope with an extra IR illuminator. Any feed back would be appreciated. THX
