Hey gang,

I just finished getting toxic goo off my new israeli FN/FAL mags. Now that I am ready to put it all back together I seem to recall that you are not supposed to oil the inside, spring, and follower because it collects dirt. A myth? I was thinking tetra gun oil so that a really thin film will be applied, any suggestions?

Thanks,

olazul

I would leave it dry or use a dry lubricant such as graphite or teflon powder. Oil does attract dirt and residue, no question. Stubby

Good advice given above. I have wiped down mag springs with Breakfree, and then wiped the same springs down with a dry rag to remove the oil (forgive me for I have knowingly sinned). Dry teflon powder is the best way to go though.
