Nef Extraction Problem,,sometimes
A while back I posted about problems I was having with the .223 not being very accurate....Well thanks to the help of you guys it is now cured.
Now I'm having problems with it extracting the spent round, but not every time..since I reload this is playing with me for I think it may be a high pressure sign.. My load is 26.5gr-blc2 w/ 55gr nos btbt..fed205m pri. (this sure shoots sweet @ 100yds)and is with in limits according to my speer#13..I've heard of guys polishing the ejector rod and housing.....I looked at it and don't know if there is a spring that may come flying out at me once I push out the roll pin (da-ja-vou). Does any one know the combination to disassemble and reassemble for the average guy or is it a smithy project?? |

VTR996, I don't have any printed material to send you on this but you are right. You drive the pin out to release the extractor. As you drive the pin out your punch will keep the extractor from flying out. Then just push in on the extractor, pull out the punch and slowly let the tension off the extractor spring. George

First try polishing the chamber with some Flitz or JB. Then spray Gun Scrubber in the ejector housing real good. Then lightly oil. Check the link below for tons of info on these guns.

Thanks for the help. I took it apart last night and it went fairly simple,2 springs,a gidget and a gadget and there it all is. I felt for snags and smoothed them with some 320 grit sandpaper we'll see how it works this weekend.
